One for the Women

Sorry, not sorry to any guy who comes across this, but this is a blog dedicated to periods. In preparing for my trip to Hawaii in May, I have been trying to cut back a bit in my diet. Once that time of the month comes around though, I tend to bloat, hold a lot of water, and just feel kind of crappy over all. My progress then experiences minor setbacks. You know what I think? I think that women should do, and not do whatever it is they do, or don’t want to do during that time of the month. Sometimes, it really is just unbearable. Men have no idea. There are side effects, there are cravings, it is not all in our heads. Periods suck. From a fitness standpoint, if you are trying to achieve a goal, and your week of your period sets you back, do not get discouraged because there is not much you can do. The body does what it wants whether we like it or not, so you might as well make the best of it, and give in to a few of those cravings. I have read many articles about “the key to prevent bloating” or “beat those cravings” but honestly, I’m done with those articles. It is a natural process, so I think we are better off to just let it happen, and go with the flow (pun intended).
