Back to Bucknell

After a bit of a hiatus, I am ready to get back into my free writing. I didn’t have serious writers block or anything. I just really wanted to relax and enjoy my summer, which is exactly what I did. For those who have read my previous blogs, you would know that I was taking a class at Rutgers for the first half of the summer. Not only did I pass the class, but I had an amazing professor. His name was Manese Rabeony. He was witty, enthusiastic, honest, and passionate about the subject which was great because chemistry is not everyone’s favorite subject. I thought he was your average science professor who just loved the subject and did some research and taught some chemistry. Turns out, he and a colleague from what I understand started a mouth guard company business called CustMbite, and told us that Under Armour paid a good sum of money for their patent on these mouthguard. It was then that i could see why he was handing out 20 dollar bills every time a person answered a question correctly. Needless to say, the class was a fascinating and fun experience… and I got a PA school prerequisite out of the way!

Other than the class, I worked a bit, did some tutoring, and spent some quality time with friends, and family. My boyfriend and I ended up spending a lot of the summer weekends at my beach house. Beach towns are the best because unlike at home, there are so many things to do. There’s mini golf (I won the summer tournament we had btw), people always outside, trips to WaWa, bike riding, the beach itself, and so much more. You just can’t not be relaxed while there. We did a lot of grilling too which was really fun. I’m actually planning on going on Grill Masters on the FoodNetwork pretty soon… jk, not that good yet. Anyway, I also ate a lot of delicious foods that I will miss very dearly until my next trip home. I wouldn’t say my boyfriend and I are foodies because we don’t try a lot of new foods, but we are definitely big into eating a lot of yummy, not so healthy foods. Donuts (Krispy Kreme only), ice cream, bagels, pizza, Reese’s products, hot pretzels, chipwiches, etc, etc, etc. We had it all, and loved every minute of it. Speaking of which, I also fell a little bit out of shape so I plan on getting back into my fitness mode at school. Speaking of which again, I am back as school as of yesterday! The goodbyes are always hard but I know everyone in my life is so proud of me and loves me dearly so I have to keep working hard for them and for myself.

I know this is turning into a long piece, but I mean I took three months off. Gotta make up for it some how. So first off, I am in a single. Anyone who knows me knows that I was in a quad last year and I am no longer about that roommate life. Secondly, my single is amazing and spacious buuut (there’s always a but lol) I am on the 4th floor of a building with no AC or elevator, so yes, move in was hell. I think it took my mom and I a total of 7+ hours to get the room finished. By the time we were done, we smelled gross, were dirty from sweating all day, and had soreness all over. I think we would both agree though that the room turned out really well. I could not be happier with my single, and my 500 fans I have blowing on myself right now. I moved in a bit earlier than the rest of the upperclassmen because I am working on campus in our career development center, which I can get into in a different post. That’s all for now. Glad to be back and I hope everyone is still interested in reading along! I have a busy school year with my job and three labs but I will try to keep up like I was at the end of last school year as much as I can! Thanks for reading.
